Collection 2000 Fabset's Blog

I was lucky enough though to be booked on a 10 day fashion shoot in Ibiza with Look Magazine. I love Ibiza; it’s my favourite destination because of its amazing beaches, nature, restaurants and nightlife. Lots of magazines like to shoot here so I am very lucky that I get to go a few times a year. If anyone is going to Ibiza this year, I recommend KM5 – it’s amazing for dinner and cocktails, music and people watching!

I get on so well with the team from Look, I work with them regularly and we laugh a lot!  We shot a few different stories, all of them stunning, all summer time fashion with gorgeous, glossy, sun-kissed skin. And I’m working with my favourite colours of the moment, bright corals and reds to give a vibrant pop of colour here and there. Fabulous!!

 So, back to the UK after a very fun, successful shoot in Ibiza………

Then last week I was in Leeds to shoot the Collection 2000 advertorial to be featured in Look Magazine. Early wake up call and a quick breakfast and straight off to the studio to be greeted by the friendliest team ever! I have to say that the creative team with us in Leeds were so lovely and welcoming so I felt at ease straight away.
So over a coffee I had a meeting with the team to talk about the four looks we had to achieve during the day.

The shoot was a focus on summer time make up, so lots of bronzing and lots of bright tropical colours – my favourite!! The models were both gorgeous so I was very excited to get started!

I love music and to create a pleasant atmosphere in the make up room I always try to bring my iPod and speakers. It gets everyone in a good mood to start the day.

On this shoot I had a lovely assistant working with me, Nina. She was one of the winners of last years FAB Set competition with Collection 2000 and Look magazine, so it’s great that she has the opportunity to work with me and gain experience on these shoots. She did a fantastic job of doing the nails on all the models!

Once make up and hair is done, the lighting is all set up and we are ready for some action! Guy, the photographer was amazing. Make up and hair were spot on and everyone was happy. The day went so smoothly, we even finished early because the team was so professional and we all did such a good job!

I love days like that when everyone has a smile on their face! That was me finished in Leeds, so I rushed off to catch my train back to London – up early again the next day for another shoot!!

Last week I was asked to assist the Collection 2000 make-up artist
Athena Skouvakis on a Collection 2000 photo shoot, I was very excited.
On Thursday I got up at the crack of dawn to travel to Leeds. Arriving
at the photo shoot everyone was in a group meeting talking about the
plan for the shoot. There were two models who would do two different looks each on the shoot. So after the meeting, Athena started applying
the make-up, then the models had there hair done, were styled and the shoot started. The different looks were based around the new products Collection 2000 have coming out soon, seeing them first hand being used, I can say I cant wait for them to be out in the shops! A hand model was used in the afternoon to model the Hot Looks nail polish. I was given the important job of painting her nails!
It was a great opportunity to assist Athena, she is such an inspiration. The
day was so much fun. Thank you to Collection 2000 and Athena for a lovely day. x x x

When we were at the Collection 2000 head office we were given so many products. I have just tried the Naturally Radiant foundation and wow I’m impressed! I’m that impressed I feel I need to broadcast it!! I have only ever worn natural foundation, I dont like to look caked in and I have say this is great. It gives you a nice natural completion with a dewy  look.  Winters nearly over with so you need something lighter and fresher……

So ladies go out and get yourself the new Naturally Radiant foundation by Collection 2000 you will not be disappointed!!!!

It was great seeing the girls again and it was exciting meeting up at the Collection 2000 head office. It was interesting  finding out where and how they do all the brainstorming for naming products and even making them from scratch. We went down the lab and were shown how they make mascara, foundation and glitter eye liner, that was so interesting! we were then given time to make our own Glam Crystal Dazzling Gel Liner, I choose a mix of green and silver which I love. Next was the  brainstorming session time- I loved this!! we all made moodboards and shouted out names for the new eyeshadow which may i add are so nice!!

We had lunch then headed to london (travelling first class):–)

We all stayed in London’s Charing Cross hotel where ” a LA MODE ” was held that evening, this gave us plenty of time to get ready with our new products given by Collection 2000. The show was great and displayed some really talented up and coming designers……Collection 2000 was actually one of the sponsers and before the show started they mentioned the FAB Set and we were given a round of applause. haha…that was funny!!!

I have had a amazing time Collection 2000 has been able to offer us, I have learnt so much with fashion and makeup.This opportunity is something I wont forget as this is the industry I am wanting to pursue into.

After travelling up to Wigan on Thursday evening the FAB Set met up again, it was nice to have a catch up with the girls. We stayed in a hotel over night then in the morning we got to go to Collection 2000 head office. I would love to work at the Collection 2000 head office what a dream job, it’s only a small team but they put so much into the brand. We started with a tour around the lab which wasn’t far from the main building. This was so much fun, we all donned our lab coats and made lipstick, foundation and mascara. We even got to create our own shade of Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner! I decided to make a glittery grey tone. I love it. After the tour of the lab was over, we went back to the main building.
We then had a presentation on up and coming trends, it was interesting to find out how Collection 2000 decided on what products and colours to bring out. We then had the fun task of naming the products. We started by brainstorming ideas and names and then had a big group discussion on names we liked and disliked, we eventually all decided on the names for the new products. I can’t wait to see them on the shelf.
After we named the products we were given a big bag full of the new Collection 2000 products. It’s so exciting to see what’s coming out soon! I love the foundation, it hasn’t left my make-up bag since it so flawless without being too heavy.
After we had finished our morning session at  Collection 2000 HQ we went down to London, in no less than first class. When arriving in London we got a taxi to the lovely Charing Cross Hotel where we were staying and the ‘A La Mode’ fashion show was held in the evening. We all got ready together and tried out the new Collection 2000 products. After having a dinner with the PR team, we headed to the fashion show which included the designers Mila Miyahara, Estelle Annabel and Hanako Narahira. Before the catwalk show started the host mentioned Collection 2000 FAB Set, we got a round of applause from the audience! The show was fantastic.
Overall I had such a good time with the FAB Set and would like to say thank you to Collection 2000. I can’t wait to see the product the FAB Set have named in the shops.
